Advocacy

Dr. Altman serves as an advocate for her patients and their families.

Parent Consultation is often useful when families are presented with test results or feedback from their children’s school. Dr. Altman will review test data and recommendations from school districts, and help parents best understand the needs of their children and inform educational planning. Often times this involves communication with school personnel as well.
Attend school Committee on Special Education or 504 meetings to discuss and present assessment results.
Attend team meetings with teachers and administrators in order to help them understand students’ social and emotional needs in the classroom setting.
