Lectures and Workshops
Dr. Altman presents on a number of topics for parents and teachers including: the impact of the pandemic on learning and parenting; understanding ADHD and executive function deficits; the emotional needs of students with learning differences; mindful parenting; understanding the twice exceptional (2E) child; managing anxiety; raising successful and confident children; the effects of divorce on children; and how to help children be more organized.
Dr. Altman writes social-emotional learning curricula for kindergarten through eighth grade on topics including: kindness; identity; friendship; emotional intelligence; and social media.
Dr. Altman has lectured for the Upper Saddle River Public Schools, the Upper Saddle River Parent Association, Temple Beth Haverim Shir Shalom in Mahwah, NJ, the Saddle River Valley Junior Women’s Club, North Shore – LIJ Hospital, and the Long Island Twice Exceptional Children’s Advocacy. Dr. Altman has also been quoted in articles for BC The Mag; Bergen Magazine; 201 Family magazine, Newsday, and the New York Times (Long Island section). She has co-authored an online column with her mother, writer Marcia Byalick, called Grandparenting.
